​Our school provides educational programs for students aged between 3–18 years with an intellectual impairment. A large percentage of our school population also have additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments.

The school caters for a growing population. These students come from a designated geographical area with the majority of students residing in Sunnybank, Sunnybank Hills, Runcorn, Robertson, Nathan, Moorooka, Rocklea, Salisbury, Acacia Ridge and Coopers Plains.

To be enrolled in our school, students must:

  1. Be diagnosed with an intellectual impairment; and

  2. Live within the school's catchment area (i.e. that Sunnybank Special School is the closest special school to their home).

  3. More detailed information can be found on the department's website, with information relating to enrolling at State and Special Schools.

For more information pertaining to enrolment, please contact the Principal. The guidance officer at your child’s school is also able to assist you with gathering information about the most appropriate school for your child.

Once enrolment at Sunnybank Special School has been approved, the enrolment and consent forms can be completed at the school or downloaded from the Support and Resources area on our Website.  Please download the Inform​ation Notice for Enrolment in a State Special School and the Enrolment form.
